From the Nurse's Office

It is OK for my child to return to school when...

  • The child has been fever-free without the assistance of medication for 24 hours.

  • The child has been free from vomiting for 24 hours.

  • The child has been free from diarrhea for 24 hours.

  • The child is free from rash, itching, or fever, and he or she has been evaluated by a doctor if needed.

  • The child has been treated with the appropriate lice treatment at home.

  • The child is free from infection drainage, and/or has been evaluated by a doctor if needed.

  • The child has been released by the medical provider after a hospital or ER visit to return to school.

  • If your child has strep throat or another bacterial infection, he or she should stay home until the antibiotic has been given for at least 24 hours and your healthcare provider has permitted the child to return to school.
