Students in Fellowship of Christian Athletes met on April 25 and heard from John Chae, director of the Korea Christian Gospel Mission in Seoul, South Korea. The Korea Christian Gospel Mission has been spreading the Gospel and the love of Christ TO, THROUGH, and WITH Koreans since 1962. The mission began with serving and reaching out to the Korean people after the Korean War, but over the years has added missionaries throughout the world to spread the Gospel to other nations. John talked about the orphanage on campus that has raised over 600 children since his father began it in 1962. The children are raised in a Christian home, focused on study, worship, and family! As mission teams have come to the orphanage and worked with the children, John has noticed that even though they do not speak the same language and are from different cultures, God breaks the barriers through sports, play, and love. He encouraged the athletes to use their athletic abilities on the mission field they walk each day in their community to connect with others and spread the love of Jesus to those around them.
Students enjoyed a breakfast of samples of authentic Korean foods and snacks.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 9.
