Congratulations to the Cumberland High School Scholastic Bowl team for advancing to the IHSA State Tournament!!! The team competed on Saturday, March 9, at Sullivan High School. CHS went 3-0, defeating Stewardson-Strasburg, Villa Grove, and St. Anthony. The IHSA State Tournament will be held at Heartland Community College in Bloomington, IL, on Saturday, March 16. Matches will start at 10 am. Good Luck!!

Students from the region were recognized at the Illinois Principal's Association reception last night. Cumberland's IPA Student Recipients for 2023-24 are Eden Fitch, Adam Flessner, Denton Nebel, Jr., Faith Brown, Jude Miller, and Cody Farris (not pictured). Congratulations students!

Cumberland Elementary and Middle School will be celebrating Read Across America next week. Mrs. Walk, our District Librarian, has several activities planned for the students including the dress-up days listed below!

What’s for lunch today? Our schools have three online options to view the lunch menu. From the district webpage, choose the school, click Explore, and then click Dining. The menus are also found on our apps, Cumberland CUSD #77, IL and TeacherEase-Parents/Students. Both can be found in your phone’s app store.

Many students in the district enjoyed visiting the petting zoo today! The petting zoo was sponsored by the Cumberland FFA.

If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024, he/she needs to be pre-registered for Kindergarten. Please start the process at the Google Form below. The form will be available beginning today and will close on March 20. Due to the weather conditions, the 8th grade LEIC volleyball tournament at Martinsville on Saturday, February 17, has been canceled. The tournament will not be rescheduled.

Freshmen Orientation for the current 8th graders is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, at 6:00 PM in the high school cafeteria.

The boys' basketball game on Friday, February 16, 2024, against Martinsville at Cumberland has been canceled.

Reminder: There is no school on Monday, 2/19, in honor of Presidents' Day.

The Cumberland County Broadband Committee is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 5:30 PM at the Cumberland County Life Center Building, 507 E Main Street, Toledo, Illinois. The committee has developed a survey to demonstrate the overall need for reliable and affordable broadband. This meeting will help residents better understand the committee’s mission and goals and explain how you can help encourage participation in the survey and the BEAD challenge.
