Miss Bueker's and Mrs. Bierman's second grade classes enjoyed making pumpkin pie in a bag last week during Ag in the Classroom. Most of them loved the yummy treat!
Report cards for grades 1-8 have been posted in the TeacherEase parent portal.
Due to technical difficulties, Kindergarten report cards will be posted at a later date. A notification will be posted when those are ready.
At the end of the semester, high school students will receive their report cards. At this midpoint, parents are encouraged to check grades on TeacherEase.
Third graders practiced their compare and contrast skills today. They read books called Who would Win? and then filled out a Venn diagram to show the similarities and differences between the two species in their book.
Reminder: There is no school on Friday, October 21.
In guided reading, students in 3rd grade read The Paper Airplane
Pilot. The story had instructions about how to make a paper airplane. After
reading, students worked together to make their own paper airplane.
Over the last few months, students in Mrs. Beard's second grade class have learned how to sign the Pledge of Allegiance. Well done, 2nd graders!

Recently, Ms. Koonce's class celebrated filling up their positive behavior puffball jar with a popcorn rewards party! They worked very hard and had a great time.
Last week, the kindergarten students celebrated having the best attendance percentage in the elementary for the month of September. They had donuts for breakfast!

Third grade students have been studying 16th notes in the song “Old
Brass Wagon” in music class. They recently learned the circle dance
that goes with it, which includes a few square dance steps such as
swing and do-si-do. Pictured are students from Mrs. Young’s homeroom

Mrs. Young’s 3rd graders worked in reading centers this morning. Students had a variety of activities to complete, such as sight words, spelling practice, vocabulary, and reading.
Mrs. McClellan's 1st grade students worked on many Language Arts skills in centers this morning. They read CVC words, practiced their sight words, and worked on their handwriting.

Inter-State Studio will be at the schools again on Thursday, 10/13, for picture make-ups and retakes.
This week, Mrs. Smyser's 3rd graders met with Kristi Shirley for an Ag in the Classroom lesson. They learned all about pumpkins. The students made their own mini pie.
Mr. Miller selects one student from each class to sign his PE bulletin board. While participating in the day's activities, he chooses a student who demonstrated good behavior, had a positive attitude, and played hard.
Mrs. Staley's 3rd graders listened to the story, Magic Tree House: Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve, today. Usually, they listen to two chapters a day, but the students have been very interested in this story and they read whenever they have free time.
