Mrs. Peters' class finished up their apple unit with an afternoon of apple filled activities. The "picking" apples science experiment was the favorite activity of the afternoon!
Students in Mrs. Kemper’s 1st grade class got to play Rhythm Bingo as a reward for great behavior in music class this quarter!

These elementary students were busy working on some reading skills. Some of the K-3 students were reading a new book, while others were working on letter sounds and writing in journals about what they've read.

After learning about apples in the classroom, Mrs. Bierman's second grade students completed a Mystery Doug STEM project. The students were trying to engineer an apple picker that would allow them to pick up their paper apples. There were many different designs. Some successful... some not!

The schools have an early dismissal tomorrow for a teachers' inservice. Schools dismiss by 12:15 beginning with car riders at 12:05.

The Pre-K students in Mrs. Waller and Mrs. Ozier’s classroom had an exciting day today. They were introduced to two new classroom pets, guinea pigs the students later named Chewy and Emma. The students learned how to feed the guinea pigs today because that will be a classroom job in the future. Chewy and Emma appear to be very happy in their new home!

The second graders love to celebrate Fridays!
Today is International Dot Day and the elementary and middle school students wore dots to celebrate. Art students made pictures beginning with a single dot. This day was created to celebrate creativity, courage, and collaberation.

The HS Yearbook is hosting a Kid's Night Out on September 30 for Kindergarten through 6th grade. Forms are available at the grade school.
Meyer Twins Art will be offering an after school program for Cumberland elementary and middle school students on Wednesday, September 28, from 3:15-5:15 in the grade school cafeteria. This program has a $25 fee. Attached is a registration form where you can choose one project. The registration deadline is Monday, September 26.
