Students in Fellowship of Christian Athletes met on November 9 and heard from Caroline Kirchmer, EIU Volleyball Alum. Miss Kirchmer, a 4th grade teacher in the district, spoke to the students about staying strong in their faith while facing setbacks and disappointments, using her own injuries as an example. “You can’t compare yourself to anyone else because we are all given our own gifts and abilities,” Kirchmer said. “You have to focus on what you can do to help your team be successful.” Students enjoyed a variety of breakfast pastries provided by The Toledo Christian Church. The next meeting will be Thursday, December 8 with guest speaker Jordan Robinson.

They emphasized that academics, attitude, and hard work are also important. They said students should take responsibility for their legacy, fight for their dreams, and don't let distractions get in the way of their success.
