The game schedule is listed. Cumberland will play ALAH on Monday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 PM at home. If they win, they will play the winner of the Neoga/Moweaqua game on Wedneaday at 7:30 PM at Casey. The championship game is on Friday at 7 PM at Casey.
At last night's basketball game, Cumberland High School's Illinois State Scholars were recognized. Illinois State Scholars are chosen based on the students' 6th-semester academic data and their ACT pr SAT scores, representing approximately 10% of the graduates statewide. We would like to congratulate the eight students who earned this prestigious award: Kaleb Bierman, Mitchell Blade, Gabriella Hutton, Camden James, Rylan James, Aundrea Nebel, Derrick Oakley, and Ellie Strader. Mark your calendars! Cumberland will begin accepting appointments for the free developmental screenings for two- to five-year-olds, including all incoming kindergarteners, on March 2!

The screenings will be on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, at the Toledo Christian Church. You will need proof of residency, a certified copy of their birth certificate, and a current physical, if available. Parents may preregister incoming kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year on the day of screening.

Things got heated in the kitchen as our Foods II classes faced off in a chili cook-off! Groups selected a recipe and worked together to cook it just right. After a round of tasting by students and guest judges, the winners have been selected. Today, the students in Mrs. Gibson's science classes honored Charles Darwin’s birthday! The classes completed a camouflage activity, designing butterflies that "disappeared" into their environment, showing how animal traits have adapted and evolved for survival.
