Mrs. Mulheron will be teaching 6th grade science and social studies at Cumberland Middle School. This will be her third year teaching. She previously taught high school Agriculture. She is looking forward to getting to know all of her students and helping them learn and grow.
Mrs. Mulheron is married to Travis Mulheron. She is from Neoga but currently lives in Effingham. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, playing with her golden retriever, Copper, and spending time outdoors.

Mr. Kimura lives in Charleston. He loves watching live college sports, traveling, and watching his kids in their activities.

Mrs. Houchin will be teaching 6th-8th grade Social Studies at Cumberland Middle School. She previously taught for 24 years at the Olney school district. She is really excited to join the Cumberland team and to meet her new students.

Mrs. Harris is looking forward to making meaningful connections with the students and helping them be successful! She is excited to be closer to family and to see her nieces and nephew throughout the day.

Reminder: 5th Grade Orientation will be held at the middle school on August 11 from 6-7 PM. Parents/Guardians and their 5th grader will receive important information from the teachers and will have the opportunity to ask questions about middle school. Students do not need to bring anything to orientation. To ensure a comfortable experience, we encourage arranging care for any children other than your 5th grader, as classroom space will be limited. Contact the middle school office with any questions.

Cumberland Backpack Ministry is offering product bags throughout the school year to be taken home every Thursday. This program is offered, without charge, to any student at Cumberland Elementary, Cumberland Middle School, and Cumberland High School. The SBL Toledo Clinic is offering sports physicals on Wednesday, July 23, from 4-6 PM. All fees are donated to the Cumberland Varsity Club. Call 217-849-3151 for an appointment.

Cumberland Middle School will hold an informational softball meeting on May 27th in the grade school cafeteria at 5:30 PM for any girls who will be in 6th- 8th grade for the 2025-2026 school year.
